AQP stands for Advanced Qualification Program. It is a concept invented by the Airline Industry to address the problems they were having with fatal airplane crashes.
The idea is simply instead of doing training and flight reviews based on the ACS (Airman Certification Standards) maneuvers, they instead focused on SCENARIOS that caused accidents.
The idea was a stupendous success. Between AQP and CRM (cockpit resource management) the safety of commercial aviation has improved dramatically.
Unfortunately, General Aviation has not adopted AQP yet. But there are those who are working to change that. And the Rusty Pilot Club is joining that effort.

Dan Gryder is leading the efforts to dramatically improve the safety of General Aviation. As Dan says, "GA pilots aren't inventing new ways to kill themselves." There are only so many scenarios that turn deadly to pilots. The good news is that almost all of them are preventable.
So AQP for General Aviation is a "grassroots" movement to teach pilots the right way to deal with the common deadly scenarios and condition them to take the proper action in any of those scenarios without hesitation and without thinking about what to do.
